John Tyson Elementary School

  I can say this is one of my best experiences in this tirp even thought I was a little bit nerveous but now I´m very happy of have been in that school. Everything is so different than in Panama, a lot of technology, all the student are very polite, when the teacher talks all of them pay attention so the teacher doesn´t need t talk aloud  they just clap their hands and everybody stay quiet.   I have learned that one of the methodologies that they use in kinder garden is TPR because there are a lot of spanish speakers and also people that does not speak English as a natieve language, I´ve been in art classes, music classes, P.E clases and it´s so exciting to see how teachers capture the attention of  children because one of the principal trouble that we have in Panama is about behavior.   It seems that all these children enjoyed all classes and maybe you will say that it depends on the effectiveness of the teacher but the real thing is that th vast majority of ...

My experience as a teacher

                                                    I never had worked as a teacher before, I just had treated with my son, my daughter, nieces and nepheous. Last year was my first time as a teacher and it was really stressed.   When I got in the classroom and I saw all those children wiating to see what I went to do I was scared because I really didn´t know what to do, I usually worked in a casino as a dealer so I just had to stand behind a table and start throing cards but as a teacher you have a big responsability.   You are the responsable of making student understand, if they don´t show advance you have everybody behind you asking you ´´hey what´s up? what¨s happening?´´   After some days and with the help of my partners I started getting the line and looking for the ways to make feel familiary with this new job or new challenge. ...

My learning expirience

                                                    My Learning Experience   I think that all of these activities that we have learned here with you all are good and I liked them because children enjoy this but the trouble is that in Panama the book that we use to teach English is so different and all the activities too.   It will be good if we could to use them with our students but the supervisor ask us to follow the steps in the given book and I really don´t know why we can´t adapt other kind of activities according to the level that we teach.   I don´t know if I´m rigtht or not but if you are working with children you have to use games or roll play to increase their interest in English because they are that kind of students who don´t like to study, they don´t like to do homework, they come from families with many troubles and it is ver...

Weather

          weather     I've enjoyed this trip a lot but the only trouble for me and for all my friends of course is the cold.   As you already know, Panama is too warm and it's a little bit difficult for me feeling me good with this weather.

Hospitality Day

                       Hospitality Day   It was a good expirience for me because I've never thought about spending time with an american family.   They were so friendly, we cooked lunch with them, we also played a game called "putangue" and we walked around down town too.   This is another story that I'll share with my family in Panama.

Reflection 4

                          Eureka Springs.   I was in Eureka Spring today and this place is like a ghost town and a little bit expensive too. But I enjoyed the trip and spend the whole time visiting the stores that were around the street.   That kind of enviroments make me remember those terror's movies that we see in t.v.

                       Living in Arkansas   I'd like to dedicate this reflection to my experience in this state. I think that Arkansas is a very beautiful place to live and I really liked too much, that is why I say that if I would have the oportunity to choose another place to live, absolutly Arkansas would be my choice.   It's a very organized country with friendly and politely people so the only trouble for me would be the weather but insted of that everithing is good.
