I think that all of these activities that we have learned here with you all are good and I liked them because children enjoy this but the trouble is that in Panama the book that we use to teach English is so different and all the activities too.
It will be good if we could to use them with our students but the supervisor ask us to follow the steps in the given book and I really don´t know why we can´t adapt other kind of activities according to the level that we teach.
I don´t know if I´m rigtht or not but if you are working with children you have to use games or roll play to increase their interest in English because they are that kind of students who don´t like to study, they don´t like to do homework, they come from families with many troubles and it is very difficult to make them pay attention or learn any lesson.
When I use drawings or games to explain any lesson because some times I change the activities even though my supervisor doesn´t likes, I notice that they enjoy the class and that is why I am not agree about using those books but they say that these books are so expensive and we must to use them.

That is a common (and very frustrating problem). Textbooks are too often thought to be THE resource for Ts. It's sad for all the reasons that you mentioned. It's also sad because textbooks can be great resources, but they shouldn't become the decision-making material. That is, textbooks aren't supposed to be the resource that decides content, pacing, procedures, etc.
ResponderBorrarThat's one of your responsibilities now as a representative of Panama Bilingue. Panama Bilingue and SILC hope that somehow you can become an ambassador for change, an agent for change in your school. It won't be easy, but I know that you see the importance of it, too.
so many things have been learned in SILC so there are a lot of things to put in practice in Panama.
